PLAY MODERN TENNIS IN SCHOOLS The Tennis Plus program currently has links with numerous schools throughout Gloucester. Our coaching team who are fully CRB checked and Licensed Coaches regularly visit these schools and set up 'After School Tennis Clubs' which are usually based on the schools premises (hall/playground). Through these sessions talented pupils are invited to attend Performance Academy Squads based at the Riverside Sports And Leisure Club. C of E Primary School Setting up an after school 'Modern Tennis' club comes at no cost for the school and also includes a FREE curriculum time taster session for the schools pupils. All equipment will be provided free of charge by Tennis Plus. In the past PE co-ordinators/teachers have been reluctant to teach tennis in schools due to the percieved difficulty however with Modern Tennis this is all set to change. is a life skill that will keep children healthy, happy and fit for life. Why Modern Tennis? Easiest
way to teach tennis in a school curriculum. How the programme works. Modern Tennis International (MTI) will provide the whole package. We start with offering school tennis to key stage 2, 3 pupils. Key stage 4 pupils then have the option to take a VRQ Level 2 qualification at their school. This is equivalent to a GSCE grade ‘B’. This qualification offers 46 performance points per pupil to the host school for their national league standings Key steps to school tennis success: Step 1. Key stage 2 internal PE training raising tennis awareness. Step 2. Easy Tennis Primary School League. (Details available with teacher training) Step 3. Key stage 3 and 4 internal PE training raising tennis awareness. This will help local club promotion Step 4. Easy Tennis Secondary School League (details available with teacher training) Step 5. VRQ (vocational related qualification) level 2 for Key stage 4 pupils. Step 6.
